Auckland City Theatre Academy (ACTA)
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
“Don’t dance for the audience, dance for yourself” – Bob Fosse
ACTA provides an opportunity for young people from age 8 to 18yrs to explore the world of performing arts, develop self confidence and have fun whilst receiving high quality tuition in musical theatre.
Instruction is given at a weekly class which covers all three art forms – drama, singing and dance. Students learn technique, performance skills and stagecraft as well as material for public performances.
For those who wish to pursue formal musical theatre qualifications, ACTA is one of the country’s leading drama and music training centres for students wishing to sit Trinity College, London examinations. Our students consistently achieve above national averages in their grades and have previously been awarded the top mark in the world, and also in New Zealand several times, for both the Musical Theatre and Singing syllabus.
We welcome all enquiries, from new students wanting to try out our musical theatre classes to those who want to participate in formal examinations and competitions.
ACTA is a registered charitable trust which was formed in 1998. We are a non profit organisation proudly supported by our patron Shane Cortese.
